I have been feeling guilty about filling your heads with non-sense lately. I believe that is it time I did something useful today. Hence, I would like to introduce to you the one, the only, ...LONESTAR T-BAG!.
This modular bag system has ridden bitch with me for at least 10,000 miles. It has endured high winds, rain, hail, snow and scorching sun. What is even more amazing is that it still looks almost brand new. It has not faded with exposure to the sun, nor does it show any signs of wear as of yet. What I really dig is that it is modular. You can take the small roll bag out for a day trip, or the larger bottom bag for a overnighter.
The Lonestar had been endowed with plenty of pockets to stuff junk. I counted 13 in all with 2 "secret" pockets. I rode it through a thunderstorm in Idaho without the rain cover and it kept things pretty dry. The zippers are the only weak points when it comes to the moisture. The lower bag has a pocket that contains a rain proof cover you can slide on. I have not used it yet. What I appreciate even more so is the two shoulder straps hidden in the back of the bottom bag. These hidden gems are there so you can tote the whole system like a backpack. (I had the bag for over a year and didn't know this until my trip to Sturgis. Some guy was toting his around on his back. I asked to see how he had rigged it. He said "If you have the same t-bag, its built in". Wish I would have known that little bit of knowledge when I was lugging my gear up two flights of stairs the day before.)
Both bags mount on the sissy bar. The securing collar will expand to fit almost all sissy bar pads. You will need to get a small rack if you are intending to hang it off the back. Once its on, it's not going anywhere. I prefer to hang it so it sits on the passenger seat so that I can use it as a backrest.
There is plenty of room in the bag. I was able to fit 9 days of tshirts, socks and jeans in the large bottom bag. The four side pockets are plenty big enough for large cameras and smaller binocs.
This is a versatile, convenient and rugged solution for long runs. I would much rather travel with this than a "hard bag and rack" on the back. I don't have a rating scale as of yet, so I will just leave it at a simple "yeah, I would recommend it and yeah, I would sell one to my mom."
You can check out the "Lonestar" as well as the other bags at www.tbags.com
Nah, I am not being paid to offer this bit of info, I just wanted to stand up and tell you all about something that I feel is a well made and worthy piece of moto-gear. Some folks say its a bit pricey, but honestly, I feel like it is worth every penny I spent on it.
Keep the shiny side up.

Dave, once again you've saved the day.
Even though I have a set of pretty nice H-D hard bags, because they're designed for the Sportster, they're small. Don't get me wrong, when you go from trying to bungee cord a gallon of milk to the bitch seat because the wife told you to bring home milk, those bags are great. But, I was thinking about going out to Milwaukee for the 105th, and I know I'd need more room for stuff. This Lonestar set up is perfect!
No shit, it is EXACTLY the sort of thing I was looking for. Between that and my saddle bags, I'll be set up to go anywhere. As soon as I get my taxes back, I'm buying one of those things!
I just wish it wasn't called a T-Bag though. That's something I hope happens to my asshole boss, should he ever find himself in the back of an ambulance with a gay paramedic.
lol, yeah, I never had the thought that I was "T-Baggin" it across the nation. heh
Hopefully you will find a place that sells them so you can take a look for yourself. I also strap other stuff to the bag and the zippers can be locked which makes it nice. I was hoping to go to the 105th myself. Not sure if that is going to happen. Check out "www.bikersfriend.com" also. They have some cool bags too, just in case you like to compare. I have been really happy with the lonestar.
I have a different model T-bag by the T-Bag company and it is an excellent product. I'm a little miffed that Dave beat me to the product review first, but I'll get over it. My review is ready to go and I will post it mid week.
I'm gonna pass on Milwaukee this year. I have other trips already planned and I only have so much money and so much time off from work.
I might also get this Lonestar for our longer trips. It has much more capacity than my Baja.
Hope to see more product reviews from you Dave. Thanks.
I hope Joker's boss doesn't start reading your blog. Joker might be unemployed and recovering from broken wings. That would suck!
Thanks for the review man. I've been looking over some different options for this very thing. Going on a 10 day trip this year and not sure if I'm just gonna bugee strap my backpack to the bike or buy something. This product looks as if it's just what I've been searching for. Sometimes the comments are better than the actual blogs........Joker's made me blow snot bubbles......

Thanks Ronman.
I do have to live up to my name.
